Hi there! So, I did not do well with meal planning for this week. We went out to dinner last night and are leaving for Vegas on Friday…so I don’t think my meals for the week are worth sharing. But, I saw this healthy living survey on Tina’s blog and thought it would be a good alternative! I will get back on track next week with meal planning and recipe sharing.
1. What did you eat for breakfast?
Today I had oatmeal w/ peanut butter and honey and a glass of orange juice. I honestly can’t tell you the last time that I ate something different for breakfast other than times that I have gone out to breakfast. I also had an iced coffee from Starbucks…I try to only go to Starbuck’s on the weekends!!
2. How much water do you drink a day?
A LOT!!! I don’t know exactly how much…but I have a water bottle that I fill up numerous times a day. I definitely think I get plenty of fluids every day!
3. What is your current favorite workout?
4. How many calories do you eat a day?
I don’t count calories. I went through a phase in late high school where I was fixated on counting calories, but now I just eat when I’m hungry. Usually 3 meals and a couple snacks each day. I try to eat as healthy as possible with the occasional splurge.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
This survey has made me realize that I am in a food rut lately! Banana w/ peanut butter, apple w/ peanut butter, carrot sticks w/ laughing cow cheese, almonds, Greek yogurt w/ oats, and occasionally chips and salsa are some of my staple snacks.
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
I work at a hospital as a dietitian. So, I am part of the Food and Nutrition department and work closely with the kitchen staff. Therefore, I eat most of my lunches from the hospital cafeteria. It’s nice because they have daily specials but also offer garden salads and soups every day! I packed my lunch every day during my dietetic internship, so it’s been a nice change!
7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
Definitely my upper body. I have pretty strong legs, but my arms are a lot weaker. If I slack on upper body workouts for an extended period of time, I can tell the next time I try to lift weights.
8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
I really don’t have a least favorite!
9. What are your “bad” food cravings?
I honestly don’t think of any foods as “bad”. All things in moderation, right??
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I do. I take a daily multivitamin. I also drink protein shakes occasionally. I have recently started researching other supplements that might be beneficial to me. I will probably add fish oil soon!
11. How often do you eat out?
I try to save eating out for the weekends. Friday night is usually a night to eat out. And, my family tends to go out to dinner on Sunday nights. I eat out a lot more now that I am living back in my hometown close to my family.
12. Do you eat fast food?
I am really not a fast food fan. If I do go to a fast food restaurant, I am the annoying one that orders a salad with all of the dressing on the side or a grilled chicken sandwich without the bun 🙂
13. Who is your biggest supporter?
I am pretty lucky to have an amazing support system in my life. My parents are at the top of the list! The rest of my family is also super supportive. My boyfriend is very supportive! And, I have a great group of close friends that I can turn to for support at any time J
14. Do you have a gym membership?
I do. I am a gym rat for sure… I love workout out in a gym and taking group classes. Right now I am a member at the YMCA and at a small dance studio that offers Oula, BootyBarre and yoga.
15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
I try to get between 7-8 hours each night. This doesn’t always happen!
16. Do you have a “cheat” day?
Not really…I am a little more likely to splurge on things on the weekends though.
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Yes. I don’t usually drink any alcohol during the week. But, we usually go out for drinks on Friday or Saturday night. I am trying to channel my responsible adult side and lose track of my early 20’s college girl side 🙂 It’s a work in progress!!!
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
Sometimes! My mom is really active and always up for trying something new with me. We go for walks quite a bit when the weather isn’t miserable. I also have a couple other friends that I will go for walks with, but when it comes down to gym workouts I usually prefer to go by myself! I had more workout buddies in AZ because all of the girls in my grad school program were nutrition or exercise science people so we all shared the same passion for health!
19. What was the last healthy thing you did?
I got a great night of sleep last night and started my day with a healthy breakfast 🙂 We’ll see how the rest of the day goes!
Now it’s your turn……What healthy habits are you practicing right now?? Who is your biggest supporter??
